Like Father Like Son! My Dad “The Pond Father” turned 79 last Thursday. I called him to wish him happy birthday and let him know I’d be giving him his present exactly one week later when we were together. Today I told him what I’m giving him with the caveat that he won’t be able to cash it in until March 28th of 2025 when he, God willing, turns the big EIGHT-O!!! “Dad we are going to Vegas baby!!!” I declared. “WOW, you’re taking me to the new Vegas Sphere?! “Sure, if there’s something going on there you’d like to see I said but, I’d really like to take you to the 2nd Annual All-American Koi Show taking place on your birthday. “Wow, wow, wow!” was his immediate reply. I waited a moment for that to sink in before I then said “after the show ends we are going head to a Continent you’ve never set foot on…AUSTRALIA!” His grin widened even bigger before I dropped the bombshell I’ve been secretly holding onto since last June when I hatched my plan… After a week in Australia for Aussie Pondemonium we are boarding a plane to the “Waterlily Capital of the World” Thailand! With that he enthusiastically shouted out “That will be the greatest trip of my entire life!!!” Well Pop, you only turn 80 once in a lifetime and when you do we will have another lifetime memory together!” He told me he was going home to lay on his couch to not rock the boat till March 28th of 2025! 🤣 Happy Birthday Pond Father! Love You! ❤️
